We have been watching a new type of bird in our yard (photos taken through our window). I have been calling it a blue jay, but it sure doesn't look like one. I finally found it online...it is a Western Scrub Jay. It looks like the pair has taken our arbor as their home. They stay mostly in the orange trumpet vine area. I hope they aren't spreading the seeds from the pods (see below photo), since we have far too many volunteer plants coming up all over the yard.

Zippety Do Dah! Zippety Yay!
What a pretty little bird. Great to have the series of photos to show bird and surroundings
They like you, they really do.
Great bird! We don't have those here...we get the (regular?) blue jay. This guy's really pretty!
a lovely bird that really stand out against it's surrounding.
Great series of pictures of the beautiful blue bird.
Looks like they are moving in! Lucky you to have such beautiful tenants! Now if they would only pay you some rent! :)
I think your going to be a Grandma!!!
:)
Those jays are really beautiful to look at and the blue colored birds really show up so nicely in photos so if they do spread seeds, at least they'll be nice subjects!
